Function / Purpose:
ARL 3460 is a spark discharge metal spectrometer, used to analyze and detect the composition of metal alloys.

Characteristics:
Using the energy of spark discharge, the alloy components on the metal surface are melted and excited into ionized plasma, and then the atoms and ions in the plasma are tested by a spectrometer and the spectrum is analyzed. Because each element has its characteristic peak at several specific wavelength positions. By analyzing the wavelength position and intensity of these characteristic peaks, the percentage of alloy constituent elements can be analyzed.
